We are delighted
to be representing our client, a medium sized Logistics specialist providing
national delivery & collections services in their search for an experienced
commercially focussed Financial Director.
This position sits on the main Board
& reporting directly to and working very closely alongside the Managing
Director. The crux of this role is about giving the Directors regular
visibility on the company’s financial performance & current state.
You will be responsible for overseeing
the day to day accounting & finance duties where you will look to apply
sound commercial finance judgement to aid the future development and growth of
a small network of distribution centres across the UK in a number of ways, both
financial and operational.
purpose of the role:
This is very much a hands-on role &
you will be highly visible & communicate with people across the business on
all matters financial. The business is in urgent need of sound financial
analysis, budgeting, planning & influencing. Whilst the wider business
performs well the overall P&L needs to reviewed & analysed closely to
set the future direction.
Ensure costs & expenditure is reported in an
accurate and timely manner.
Drive the company’s Financial strategy, Planning
Monitor complex financial data, cash flow &
transactions to provide the main Board with a weekly / monthly / Quarterly
accurate cash position.
Take full ownership of annual budgets, forecasts
Produce regular high-quality accounts &
Split your time as 60% Commercial Finance, 20%
people mgn’t & 20% Compliance
Managing a team of 6 including credit control,
purchasing & admin.
Hands approach to capital expenditure &
Analyse and identify areas of improvement that
affect the cost base especially on labour, fuel & other key areas.
Challenge Senior Managers on operational
expenditure, costs & budgets
Identify areas of financial weakness in the
business & follow through with solutions
Will put in processes to analyse industry financial
Operate in a flexible and responsive way to the
Resolves issues with commercial operations
Oversees financial KPI’s
Recommend new productivity or cost saving
Full cost analysis of any commercial expenditure
This role would suit someone who is used to a great deal of autonomy in an
FD role who strives for that next step upwards.

the business is performing.

background covering all aspects of accountancy, finance & reporting
