The Client:
Our client is the largest wholesaler of Plumbing, Heating & Bathroom products in the UK. They distribute nationally over 20,000 products on behalf of market leading brands, delivering to independent merchants, DIY outlets, bathroom, fire and general retailers nationwide on their own fleet and vehicles with 11 sites across the UK.
Role Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate order picking, maintaining productivity standards, and leading a team of Warehouse Operatives. This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
The successful candidate will:
Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Warehouse OperativesAssign and monitor daily tasks to ensure timely and accurate order pickingConduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updatesPromote and maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies and proceduresConduct regular safety inspections and address any identified hazardsEnsure compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirementsOversee the picking process to ensure accuracy and efficiencyMonitor workflow and adjust staffing levels as needed to meet operational demandsEnsure all picked orders meet quality standards and customer requirementsAddress any discrepancies or errors promptlyTrack and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the picking teamConduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members
About you:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role - ESSENTIALFLT licences – counterbalance, reach desirableStrong understanding of warehouse operations, particularly order picking processesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentStrong organisational and time management abilitiesProficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant softwareTake ownership and care of all stock and orders within the required speed to ensure that the items are dispatched to stores within the right time frame
