Gas Transport Manager
Midlands-based.
Up to £55K pa DOE
Monday – Friday – Flexibility is required

The role:
We are looking for a cryogenic gas transport operations manager to join our team as a Transport Manager based at our Magna Park depot. (You will be required to travel to other locations.) You will oversee the safe and efficient delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG), other cryogenic and pressurised gases to our client’s customers.
Key responsibilities:
Adhere to and promote a safe working environmentTraining and supervising the transport staff and drivers on the proper handling and storage of cryogenic and compressed gasesPlanning and scheduling driver and vehicle resources according to customer demand and delivery deadlinesMonitoring and tracking vehicles and drivers performance using GPS and other systemsEnsuring compliance with all safety, environmental and regulatory standards and policiesTroubleshooting and resolving any issues or problems that may arise during the transport processEvaluating and improving the transport performance and efficiencyLiaising with customers, suppliers, contractors and other stakeholdersCoordinate with Transport Planning and Fleet team to ensure smooth running of OperationsMonitor and report on transportation costsReport maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipmentResearch and suggest cost-effective shipping methodsConduct regular safety audits on equipmentEnsure compliance with company policies and shipping legislationStay up to date with safety regulations
About you:
Proven experience in cryogenic and/or compressed gas transport is essentialExcellent communication, leadership, problem-solving and organisational skillsA valid driver’s license and a clean driving recordPrevious experience supervising and developing a team within a transport environmentExpert understanding of relevant driver legislation: Working Time Directive, Tachograph LegislationRelevant Logistics / Supply Chain qualification or equivalent experienceInternational Transport Managers CPC is desirable but not essentialConversant in IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and CRM systems.Competent in and experience of incident investigationsAbility to work independently and as part of a TeamWillingness to learn and adapt as the business changesContinuous Improvement mind-set
