Our client is a leading
healthcare service management provider, with over 20 sites in the UK. They are
currently recruiting for an Operations Supervisor at their site in Derby on a
Monday – Friday, weekly rotating shift basis (8am-4pm, 11am-7pm and 2pm-10pm).
Reporting into the Production Manager, you
will be responsible for 5 Team Leaders and a team of 50 FTEs within Production
and Logistics. In this fast paced and H&S conscious environment, you will
have the following roles and responsibilities:
- To provide
leadership through personal example, promoting sound departmental communication
and fostering good interpersonal relationships.
- To effectively and efficiently oversee
the preparation of materials received (Healthcare Instruments and Equipment)
and ensure they following predefined quality standard in the processing
thereof (assembly and pack).
- To oversee and rigorously check the
packing of post-production SKUs, ensuring they meet contract
specifications within predefined quality standards.
- To ensure the safe operation of all
production machinery, lines and equipment, effectively and efficiently.
- To oversee that repaired and missing
SKUs are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer
- To oversee that repaired SKUs are
returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets.
- To proactively monitor, evaluate and
ensure that operational activities fully comply with required Health and
Safety procedures and guidelines.
- To ensure that all designated staff are
kept informed and trained on individual and team health and safety
procedures in the workplace.
- To monitor and ensure that all
production processed by designated team conforms quality guidelines and
ensuring complete operational control.
- To effectively control the use of
materials, equipment and consumables within the operation, reporting
re-occurring faults and informing the Production Manager of any other
- To actively assist and support the
Production Manager in the planning and operational process.
- To actively monitor absence levels,
maintaining accurate records and liaising with team members in the
management of absence.
- To coach, support and guide team members
in line with the principles of Performance Management, setting and
reviewing goals, acting as a mentor to the team and identifying training
and development needs.
- To ensure the effective communication
between senior management and production teams.
Ideal Candidate for
to at least A-Level standard with excellent verbal and numerical skills
of managing teams in a fast moving, regulated production / logistics environment
worked with Quality procedures, ideally with H&S Awareness (COSHH, MHE).
