Our client is a niche 3PL in the UK and we are delighted to assist them in their search for a VMU Manager, to be based at their flagship site in Aberdeen, with responsibility for sites off shore (Shetland). The business is currently developing exciting plans for growth; this is an outstanding opportunity.

Reporting into the Managing Director, you will be an experienced Vehicle Maintenance Unit Manager, thriving on autonomy to lead and oversee the work of employees providing a high-quality commercial vehicle maintenance service to its customers

Key Responsibilities as Vehicle Maintenance Unit Manager:

         Develop goals and objectives that tend to growth and prosperity

         Design and implement business plans and strategies to promote the attainment of goals

         Ensure that the division has the adequate and suitable resources to complete its activities (e.g. people, material, equipment etc.)

         Organize and coordinate operations in ways that provides a staff working environment and ensures maximum productivity

         Supervise the work of employees and provide feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness

         Maintain positive relationships with potential and existing customers, suppliers and other stakeholders

         Assess overall company performance against objectives

         Ensure adherence to legal rules and guidelines

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience  as a Manager in an engineering/workshop environment
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, databases and workshop management systems

Moreover you will be able to display excellent commercial and financial acumen.
