client is a leading FMCG Distribution Company in the UK and, due to an exciting
major contract win, we are delighted to assist them in their search for a Transport
Supervisor at their site in Hertfordshire, based on a 12hour 4on, 4off shift pattern, monthly rotation of 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am.
Reporting into the Transport Shift Manager,
with 100 Drivers
and fleet of 100 Units, you will be expected to
assist the Transport Shift Manager with day to day
running of the department and ensure all legal requirements of the transport
operation are met.
Responsibilities as Transport Supervisor:
- To cover for the
Shift Manager in their absence.
- Ensure that
drivers adhere to driving legislation at all times.
- To support and
assist in the cost effective running for the department.
- To liaise with
internal and external customers.
- To carry out
investigations / disciplinary when required.
- To ensure that
all routes start on time.
- Make necessary
adjustments for absence / sickness.
- To schedule
routes for ailed deliveries and error recoveries.
- To assist in
routing next day deliveries.
- Ensure that all
legal, company and statuary requirements concerning the transport
operation are adhered to and that records are correctly completed and
maintained in accordance to the procedure, responsible for ensuring the
adherence to current legislation regarding Driver’s hours / records,
tachograph, vehicle inspections and maintenance, Driver Licensing and
Health and Safety at Work.

setting and monitoring of personal goals and measurable targets.
- Ensure that customer-facing
transport staff is suitably dressed, clean and presentable at all times.
- Investigate and
report on all customer complaints regarding transport staff.
- Ensure that the
Transport Manager is made aware of all accidents, dangerous occurrences
and near misses and that the relevant reports are completed for all such

de-brief is carried out.
- To comply at all
times with relevant legislation regarding food safety and the chill chain
- Experience of working in a FMCG
- Have an understanding of Logistics and
- Have good organisational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications.
