OPERATIONAL SOLUTIONS & DESIGN PROJECT MANAGER (DISTRIBUTION FULFILLMENT)

Our client is an innovative and growing 3PL, with an enviable list of Blue Chip FMCG Clients. Due to ambitious growth plans, they have created a brand-new role to assist their Sales team in designing warehousing and fulfilment solutions to accommodate new business wins.  

 

To be based at their RDC in Magna Park. Reporting into the Commercial Director, you will be required to calculate operational productivities and equipment requirements in order to generate new project costings. Moreover, you will work closely with both Sales and Operations to provide the most innovative and cost competitive pricing in Tender documents.

 

The role:

 

         Working with the Business Development team to respond to RFQs from new business customers

         Attend internal and external customer meetings to understand the customer requirements and translate them into a process design which can be presented back to the wider team

         Design the receiving, picking, packing and despatch processes and calculating productivity targets

         Ensure that solutions use innovative thinking to provide the most competitive costings

         Work closely with IT and operations to support the solution design

         Develop a costing / pricing model to ensure all project costs are captured and be able to present back to the wider operations, commercial and sales teams

         Using relevant software to design new warehousing solutions

         Providing the sales team with required layout and prices documentation to support RFP submissions

         Attend internal and external customer meetings as the Solutions expert and be able to professionally sell the designed solution

         European travel may be required less than 20% of the time to support projects within the wider European facilities

         Support the operations teams with process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives

         Attending Conferences and Events to keep up to date with latest industry trends

         Accountable for ensuring any new initiatives or projects are implemented and achieved in accordance within the business working practices.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

 

         Warehouse Fulfilment & Supply Chain solutions experience

         6 Sigma Green Belt or above

         Ideally Prince 2 Practitioner

  • 2 years experience in a Solutions Design Environment.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, presentation and communication skills.
  • Warehouse Management Systems & processes.
  • Knowledge of warehouse automation and MHE

         Strong knowledge in E- commerce

         Exposure to implementing new systems and processes of work.

         An understanding of Continuous Improvement

         IT skills, including AutoCAD, Visio, Advanced Microsoft / Excel / PowerPoint

         Ability to use a costing / pricing model

         Demonstrable Improvement & Innovation ideas

         The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines

  • Experience of implementing processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced people environment.
  • Great communicator.
  • Positive attitude & drive results.
