We are delighted to assist our client, one of the UKs largest online retailers, in their search for a Warehouse Manager at their site in Middlesex. Reporting into the Head of Operations, you will be expected to ensure the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the Warehouse Operation.

 

Key Responsibilities for Warehouse Manager:

 

         Manage a growing team of supervisors, permanent and temporary operational staff (50 plus).

         Resource planning and man management in a labour intensive environment.  Seasonal activity leads to the labour force doubling, particularly during Christmas and January Sales.

         Introduce and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with industry standards.

         Advise line manager on organisational performances, issues, measures, requirements and improvements.

         Day to Day planning, organising and running of the Goods in, dispatch and returns operations within the companys main warehouse.

         Effective resource planning of shifts and work force across different functions, I.E. pickers, Packers, Despatchers, etc.

         Labour force management.

         Temporary Labour force management and negotiations with third party resource (Temp) providers.

         Health and Safety / MHE

         Staff appraisals, disputes and disciplinary procedures.

        Day to day Carrier management and measurement

        Maintain good close working relationships across the business and other departments.

        Analyses of statistics or other data for planning; and also to determine performance and service levels achieved.

        Compile reports analysing the service levels achieved for feed back to line manager and other senior management.

        Develop and maintain operational processes, procedures, policies and standards for the various functions.

        Training and mentoring of management and staff to deliver a high standard of operational effectiveness and efficiency.

 

Key Competencies of the Warehouse Manager

 

         Experienced in E-Commerce / Mail Order Retailing distribution environment

         Good sound experienced management, man management and leadership skills

         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - verbal and written

         Excellent analysis and problem-solving abilities

         Strong attention to detail and accuracy

         Adaptability

         Ability to work on own initiative

         Ability to work under pressure

         IT Skills: including Warehouse Management (WMS) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
