Warehouse Shift Manager (Nights)

Our client is a leading UK retailer and part of a larger global retail group and we are delighted to assist them in their search for a Shift Manager on perm nights to oversee the effective leadership of their retail delivery team and facilitate the night to night operations of the shift.  

 

Reporting directly into management, you will have full responsibility for the inbound & put away teams. The shift operates on a 4on 4off, 18:00-06:30 basis which will include weekends. You will be expected to lead, develop and motivate the operation to achieve site KPIs and objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

         Manages the performance and development of their team to drive effective achievement of targets and standards throughout the warehouse operation

         Directly oversees the night inbound and replenishment teams

         Maintains stock accuracy at the expected level

         Directs the daily activities of the night team so all functions are completed and recorded accurately

         Leads and develops process improvements / policy management and oversees implementation

         Oversees compliance with site health and safety to maintain agreed standards

         Monitors headcount and keeps warehouse equipment to optimum levels to drive cost savings and efficiencies

         Meets work standards and targets; organises their time and work to meet required deadlines

         Contributes positively to workplace morale

         Success in this role requires a flexible approach to work, an eye for detail and the ability to lead the team to meet targets and deadlines.  

 

Candidate Requirements:

         From a similar warehouse environment, you will have managed a team for at least 3 years

         Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies (or similar)

         Excellent track record of managing KPIs and driving operations forward through continuous improvement

         A Hands-on Shift Manager who can demonstrate superb leadership skills

         Excellent People Management skills and the ability to motivate a team to achieve results

         Excellent H&S understanding
