Our client is a major Road Haulier specialising in Air Freight and due to superb growth and an increase in volume through existing and new contracts, we are delighted to assist them in their search for Transport Planner at their site near Heathrow. Shift times will be 12:00-22:00

 

The role involves the efficient planning of transport resource whilst providing first class customer service. The successful applicant must have outstanding attention to detail with excellent coordination and communication skills and a strong desire to want to learn and progress their career through following leadership and direction effectively, and to take on additional responsibility as the both the business and position grows.

 

Duties include

         Effective planning and utilisation of drivers & vehicles

  • Sub-contractor transport planning allocation in line with service & cost administration

         Load planning and routing for a large fleet of vehicles

  • Ensure effective communication processes are maintained for both external & internal customers

         Reporting problems and dealing with any issues/queries that may arise.

         Ensuring paperwork is actioned and completed promptly

  • Fleet & driver system administration
  • Compliance regarding WTD, & Health & Safety
  • Follow direction and show willingness to learn
  • Willingly take on additional responsibilities and pro-actively step into help other departments & roles within the business

 

Essential Qualities

         Previous transport/planning experience

         Be able to work effectively in a close team

         Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational abilities

         Ability to make decisions under pressure

         Excellent communication skills at all levels within the business

         PC Literate in Word, Excel and Outlook

         Must be flexible in approach to work and shift patterns and adaptable to meet business demands

         Show a real passion for development of yourself and others
