Freight Transport Planner
Up To 32k + Bens DOE

Our client is a global Freight Forwarding and Contract Logistics company who are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner at their site in Colnbrook. Here, you will be responsible for prioritizing workloads, planning daily routes and managing the drivers in a highly pressurized, multi-drop/collection environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effective planning of up to 15 multi-drop/collection routes per day
  • Daily liaison with internal & external customers
  • Meeting and where possible, exceeding KPIs
  • Briefing and De-briefing of drivers on a daily basis
  • Ensuring all vehicles are utilised for maximum efficiency for space & time
  • Sub-contractor management and liaison
  • Manage and monitor all PODs and ensure all documentation is captured for every collection & delivery
  •  Deal with delivery bookings
  • Problem solving dealing with any issues and being the point of escalation for bookings, enquiries and service failures
  • Monitor KPI figures and generation of management reports
  • Vehicle planning
  • Dealing with invoice queries
  • Monitor and manage supplier and sub-contractor performance against SLAs
  • Continuous review of systems and SOPs ensuring a culture of continuous improvement and quality

 

The Candidate:

  • Proven transport planning experience (within Freight Forwarding a bonus!)
  • Manual routing experience would also be a bonus
  • Knowledge of multi-drop & collection operations
  • Health & Safety awareness and knowledge is paramount
  • Solid knowledge of current driver and vehicle legislation
  • Excellent people and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent prioritisation and organisation skills
