Traffic Controller

Our client is an ambitious 3PL with exciting growth plans for the future. As a result, we are delighted to assist them in their search for a Traffic Controller, to be based at their site in Crick, Northamptonshire, on a Monday Ė Friday basis (1300hrs Ė 2100hrs).
 
Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will be responsible for all key identified operational tasks to ensure control of all consignments, vehicles and  drivers our the UK operation. This key role is responsible for the busy transport operation on behalf of a multi-user client base. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Print proof of deliveries (PODís) and attach additional paperwork from driversí runs
  • Book agency drivers
  • Handle a high volume of emails and telephone calls (itís a busy operation!)
  • Raise manual PODís and proof of collections
  • Manage Debrief driver paperwork
  • Input data into the Transport Management System
  • Handle and input vehicle defects into defects check list
  • Manage driversí holidays
  • Print, check and debrief drivers on infringements
  • Build effective relationships with all drivers, team and customers
  • Operate as the main point of contact for customers (Orders, enquiries, PODís, complaints)

  • Transport professional
  • Excellent understanding of the legal framework of driversí hours and records legislation
  • Ability to deal effectively and patiently with others
  • Good interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Professional and trustworthy
  • Energy and drive
  • Able to work to time sensitive deadlines and prioritise work
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Ability to follow and adhere to instructions
  • Computer Literate (good working knowledge of Excel and using various different IT systems)
  • Able to pay strict attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent customer service skills
